It covers everything you need to know to get started. It means I can quickly bring up a tool or create a mock campaign without having to worry about any live campaigns. Having a live Google Ads account where you can testing things out, explore and play can be an amazing learning tool. Googlers create 'dollar a day' accounts to give them access to a live Google Ads account with an extremely small daily budget hence the name. It lets people get their hands dirty.
The Beginners Guide to Google Ads
If you can afford it I'd encourage you to do the same. Even a small one-off campaign where you test something out can provide you with valuable new skills. It covered the basics really well and it helped propel me into understanding the important features and the basics of managing accounts. It went beyond the basics and talks about the testing your ads super, super important. This book was great in explaining the difference between Direct Marketing of which AdWords is and traditional marketing. Basically they tell you to throw out everything you thought you knew about "Brand" Marketing and start from scratch with direct Marketing.
I think everyone reading this book is familiar with the old adage "I know I'm wasting half of my advertising budget, I just don't know which half".
Google AdWords For Dummies Cheat Sheet
This book, along with the AdWords platform solves that problem. If you can play fantasy base This book was great in explaining the difference between Direct Marketing of which AdWords is and traditional marketing. If you can play fantasy baseball you can run an AdWords account. I really liked the example on page 20 that walks you through all the numbers and acronyms with a real world example.
